Kanjo has been orphaned by HIV / Aids. Nyah looks healthy, but suffers occasionally from malaria which she receives treatment through the help of the Aunt. Presently she is attending Primary Education. Nyah and her sister Blessing lost both parents the same year 2004. Since then, they lived with their 77 year old grand mother until when her health became increasing poor, they moved to Mama Patience, an Aunt’s house who stays alone with three of her own children. Patience now with 5 children, lives on subsistence agriculture to take care of the family she has inherited. Her very meager income is grossly insufficient to take care of the educational, health and livelihood needs of the household. Patience is a subsistent farmer who had been separated from her retired husband. Highly desperate situation, which needs assistance for schooling, medical care and nutrition.

Father - Victor Nkeh - died of HIV AIDS related illness . Mother - Ernestine Nsuni - is an HIV/AIDS patient with epilepsy. Jefter does not look healthy at all, he is constantly on medication for fever and malaria. Presently he is attending Primary Education. Jefter, his junior sister and his mother are living with their young uncle years who dropped from school to take care of them. The young uncle goes around with a borrowed push truck in order to earn some money to take care of the family. A desperate but concerned case of child labour. The increasing demand for health care for the mother and Nduko, Jefter’s junior sister puts the family in very difficult circumstances. The medical situation of Ernestine, the mother is very disturbing. Highly desperate situation, which needs assistance for schooling, medical care and nutrition.

Sandrene looks healthy, though she complains occasionally of painful legs and stomach disorders. She understands English, though she cannot write as yet. Wants to be a Nurse. Sandrene lives with her two sisters and a cousin in the grand father’s two-room house. They live with their widowed aunt whose husband died just after marriage. Though the mother is a HIV/AIDS patient, she has the incumbent responsibility of feeding the family. Randof lives with his grand mother and brother Desmond Nformi in their grand father’s two-room house. His elder brother dropped out of school after the father’s death to look after the mother who too died three years after in 2005. With the health of their grand mother deteriorating, the future of Randof and his brother is very uncertain. They have no source of income but for goodwill. Their grand mother is 75 years old and suffers frequently from backaches and cough.

Nelson and his elder cousin Brain up to December 5th 2007, was living with his 74 year old Grand father. Unfortunately he died of liver disease on 5 December 2007. Presently he is staying with his 68 year old grand mother who is also ill. They live in an old corrugated sheet roofed house which the grand father had built. With no finances and the failing heath of the grandmother, Nelson and the cousin’s education were suspended this second term and he is not sure when his fees shall be taken care of for him to continue. Not enrolled in school for lack of sponsorship. Would very much like to go to school. Likes singing She is crippled as seen in the picture. Though generally healthy finds it very difficult working on the borrowed crutches and shoes. Alida lives with her mentally derange mother and an epileptic brother in an abandoned house. The house leaks during the rains and they have neither electricity nor water. Wet and cold in the rainy season and very dusty in the dry season. There are no sanitary provisions in the house. The family survives mainly on charity from passersby which is hardly enough to take care of their medical care, nutrition to mention education for young Alida. Nutrition wise, they hardly are sure of a meal. Any support shall provide a lot of hope to this family and enable Alida to school.
